Pūoko CCM FAQ

What is the accuracy of the sensors?

The temperature sensor used by Pūoko CCM provides a wider measurement range between -30℃ ... 60℃ with different accuracies across the measurement range.

  • ±0.3℃ for 0℃ ... 60℃

  • ±0.6℃ for -20℃ ... 0℃

  • ±0.8℃ for -30℃ ... -20℃

Accuracy in the range relevant for pharmacy refrigerators (2°C - 8°C) is ±0.3°C.

What happens in the event of sensor failure?

We provide high-quality sensors with up to 7 years of battery life, certified to AU and NZ regulations. While electronic failure can never be 100% avoided, Pūoko CCM is designed with multiple fail-safes:

  • Damaged or inactive sensor: If a sensor stops sending data - whether due to damage, a dead battery, or being accidentally taken off-site, the system detects the inactivity and sends a notification to your mobile app.

  • Incorrect reporting: While theoretically possible, this is unlikely for pre-calibrated digital sensors. For highly sensitive sites, we recommend redundancy: placing a second sensor in the same refrigerator. If the temperature values differ significantly, you will be able to identify that a sensor may be faulty and requires

Where can I see how long is the out-of-range event last for?

The Notification menu in the mobile app: This screen lists your notification history. You can see exactly when an alert was created and when it was cleared. If you haven’t received a "Cleared" notification yet, it means the alert is still active and the duration is the time elapsed since the initial notification.

The Wi-Fi gateway is connected to a wall socket. If there is a power outage, will I lose sensor data?

While the Wi-Fi gateway cannot communicate with sensors or send data to the cloud without power, the sensors themselves are battery-powered and can store temperature readings internally - these can be read out manually if required. Depending on the configured recording frequency, the sensors can store data for multiple days. If your area experiences frequent power outages, please consult with info@vaiotech.nz for the most suitable settings.

Also, inn the event of an outage, the cloud system detects gateway and sensor inactivity and sends a notification to your mobile phone - approximately 10 minutes after the power fails and remains off. To use this feature, please ensure notifications are enabled in the settings menu in the web app (activated by default).

What is Recording interval in the settings?

This is the frequency at which sensor data is stored in the Pūoko CCM cloud database. It defines the smallest time unit for reports - for example, if the recording interval is set to 5 minutes, each log entry in the full report will be 5 minutes apart. The interval is pre-set based on your selected service package. To request a change, please contact support at info@vaiotech.nz.

How does the Recording interval impact out-of-range alerts?

The recording interval is completely independent of out-of-range alerts. It defines how frequently sensor data is written to the log file. Out-of-range alerts are sent instantly as soon as a deviation is detected.

How secure is my WiFi password and where is it stored?

The Wi-Fi password is stored locally on the Wi-Fi gateway only - never in the cloud. It remains within your building, accessible only by your staff. The gateway utilises two layers of security. To access the Wi-Fi configuration, a person must:

  • Have physical access to the gateway to manually trigger pairing mode by pressing the button on the gateway

  • Have a unique password to open the device configuration interface

How to change my password?

The password can be changed through the mobile app. To do so, navigate to Profile → Security → Change password and follow the instructions on screen.

Why do I need 2 QR codes?

The first is a generic, public QR code to download the Pūoko CCM app. Scanning it directs you to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for a quick installation.

The second QR code is unique to your account and is generated based on your login credentials. Scanning this from within the Pūoko CCM app logs you in automatically, removing the need to type your password. For security, this code has a limited expiration period and can be re-generated at any time in the web application.
